This design is inspired by the Nilgiri Flycatcher, a small blue bird found in the forests of the Nilgiris. It appears suddenly and disappears just as quietly, becoming part of the hills in a way that feels almost fleeting.

In the Nilgiris, the flycatcher is remembered as much as it is seen. A flash of blue in the corner of the eye, a stillness where a bird had just been — it leaves behind a feeling more than a picture.

Through this hand embroidered piece, the women share pieces of the landscape they know by heart, along with memories shaped by years of watching the forests closely. It speaks of noticing what is gentle, small, and easy to overlook — and of holding on to what feels familiar, even as the world shifts around it.
